The Illusive Eye: Op Art and the Americas in the 1960s

On the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of MoMA’s The Responsive Eye, this exhibition presents a Latin American perspective that both celebrates and challenges the 1965 show. Illusive Eye reexamines the phenomenon of op art and geometrical abstraction. El Museo’s exhibition will feature works from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, and Uruguay, as well as Europe and the United States.
