Looking Back/Looking Ahead: Columbia's Sesquicentennial Time Capsule

September 5 - December 17, 2016 - The exhibition will include photographs, programs, souvenirs, and even the cover of the time capsule itself.  Step back in time to see Columbia remembered.  McKissick Museum offers a glimpse into the past with artifacts from Columbia’s Sesquicentennial Time Capsule.  Placed in the court house in 1936 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the founding of Columbia as both a city and the South Carolina state capital, the time capsule was opened in 1986.
