Realm of the Spirit: Solomon R. Guggenheim Collection and the Gibbes Museum of Art

October 22, 2016 - January 15, 2017 - The exhibition features thirty-six masterworks presented in the original exhibitions by artists. In 1936 the Gibbes Museum of Art presented the first formal exhibition of Solomon R. Guggenheim’s collection of modern art. Now, eighty years after the first exhibition, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and the Gibbes Museum of Art have come together to revisit this important intersection in our institutional histories with Realm of the Spirit: Solomon R. Guggenheim Collection and the Gibbes Museum of Art.
