From the beginning, the general purpose of the club would be for collectors and lovers of Barbie to share their with fellow enthusiasts.
The Windy City Collectors Barbie Doll Club was founded in March of 1992 by Julie Bronski. Because of her love for Barbie, Julie wanted to create a forum for Chicago-area Barbie doll collectors to interact. So she passed out flyers at doll shows and placed an ad in Barbie Bazaar magazine.
